Inauguration of the MA in Buddhist Studies: A New Academic Journey Begins

The inauguration ceremony of the Master of Arts Degree Programme in Buddhist Studies, organized by the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies of the University of Kelaniya, was successfully held on 24 January 2026 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Prashantha Lal De Alwis, President’s Counsel and Principal of the Sri Lanka Law College.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr Sudath Senarath, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, along with the academic staff of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies and the students of the Master’s programme.
